    training with injuries

    by JackDempsey2008 (Posted Sun, 31 Aug 2008 05:40:24 +0000)
it is normal to have niggles if you train full time. You will have odd aches and pains. Just buy some deep heat, take some pain killers and look for your local masseuse! It is annoying but unfortunately it cannot be avoided. Training by its very nature stresses and breaks down the body allowing it to adapt and become stronger. Injury is inevitable. Just make sure you aren’t over training and under resting.

    super heavyweight division?

    by JackDempsey2008 (Posted Sun, 31 Aug 2008 05:36:57 +0000)
I’d agree with that. Valuev does get by on size alot for most of his fights. Like you say, he is average (at best). If he was 5.11 and 180lbs he would be lucky to be an amateur.

POST-FIGHT ANALYSIS: Nicolay Valuev vs John Ruiz

    by Paul (Posted Sun, 31 Aug 2008 00:42:50 +0000)

Nicolay Valuev has claimed a split decision points victory over John Ruiz to claim the vacant
WBA Heavyweight championship. Valuev, who held nearly a foot height advantage over his opponent, dominated the fight from long range for most of the rounds. Despite this, one Japanese judge awarded the fight to Ruiz by a single point.

Ruiz was largely ineffectual, he caused Valuev some problems when he did manage to work on the inside; although these moments were too much of a rarity to cause an upset to Valuev, the bookies’ favourite.

Valuev used his long pawing jab to good effect, keeping Ruiz at bay and cutting him in the middle rounds.

With this victory,Valuev moves to 48 wins from 50 contests with 1 loss. The next target for Valuev will likely be a rematch with the undefeated Ruslan Chagaev, the man who handed him his first loss as a professional.
